Objective
The objective of this project is to build a stick bomb in the shape of a ninja star using popsicle sticks. This activity aims to teach students about potential and kinetic energy, tension, and the principles of chain reactions. Students will observe how stored energy is released to create motion.
Scientific interpretation
In this project, you will learn about potential and kinetic energy. When you weave the popsicle sticks together, you store potential energy in the form of tension. When the last stick is released, the potential energy is quickly converted into kinetic energy, causing the sticks to fly apart. This demonstrates the principles of energy storage and transfer, as well as chain reactions.
