Voltage

Voltage is a measure of how much electrical energy a battery or power source can provide to a circuit. It’s like the force that pushes water through a hose. The greater the voltage, the more electrical energy is available to power the circuit!

Imagine you have a water tank that is full of water. The water in the tank has potential energy because of its height. When you open a valve at the bottom of the tank, the water flows out and the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. Voltage works in a similar way – the electrical energy stored in a battery or power source has potential energy, and when it’s connected to a circuit, it can be converted into useful work, in the image above, the Drop or height difference is basically the voltage or potential difference
