Overview
In this project, we will learn how to make a paper rocket using craft paper and a straw.
You’ve probably noticed that rockets and missiles typically have triangular fins at their bases. This is also true for other long, narrow objects that fly quickly through the air, like arrows. In this project, you will understand how these fins help a rocket maintain a straight flight path. The fins ensure that the rocket’s center of pressure (the point where air resistance acts) is located behind its center of mass (the “middle” of the rocket, or the point where its mass is concentrated).
