Creating 3D Shapes Using Matchsticks or Sticks

Objective

The objective of this project is to understand geometric shapes and their properties by constructing 3D shapes using matchsticks or sticks and modeling clay or play dough. Students will learn about vertices, edges, and faces of different 3D shapes, enhancing their spatial awareness and comprehension of basic geometry concepts.

Scientific interpretation

In this project, you will explore the properties of 3D shapes such as cubes, pyramids, and prisms. By constructing these shapes, you will learn about vertices (corners), edges (sides), and faces (surfaces). Understanding these properties helps in visualizing and solving problems related to space and structure in the real world, which is a fundamental concept in both mathematics and engineering.
