Objective
This project aims to explore the principles of rocket propulsion and understand how forces and motion work. Students will create a balloon rocket and investigate how the launch angle affects the distance traveled.
Scientific interpretation
The Balloon Rocket project demonstrates Newton’s Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When the air in the balloon is released, it pushes against the air outside, propelling the balloon forward along the straw. This experiment also introduces aerodynamics concepts and angles’ effect on motion.
